Mud by Meg started the first day I posted on Instagram, June 10, 2019. Moving to a new city means finding a new community to be a part of. My favorite place to look for that is in like-minded artists that dwell in the pottery world. It all began with Good Dirt, Los Angeles where I bought studio time. There was always an instructor present. He commented on how my work was so surgical and asked if I had a website. I did not, I had nothing to show except some photos in my phone of college era pieces. The instructor was set on fixing that answer for me, so he grabbed my phone and set it up to begin recording me throwing. His encouragement and support prompted me to post on Instagram. I created different names, and with my graphic designer background I set out to define my brand. A few months later I was officially branded, Mud by Meg.
